About the League
Ashbourne Town Darts League has 47 teams spread over 4 divisions and covers an area within a ten mile radius of Ashbourne (as the crow flies).
Teams consist of a minimum of six players, sixteen maximum, and can be mixed. League Matches in Division One consist of six singles best of 3, 501, straight start, double finish; and three doubles, 701,double start,double finish. Matches commence at 8.45 pm.
League Matches in Divisions Two, Three and Four consist of six singles, 501, straight start, double finish; and three doubles, 701,double start, double finish. Matches commence at 9.00 pm.
Matches are played on Wednesday and the season runs from the beginning of September through to April. Competitions are then held weekly until the finals night on May 30th 2007.
The following competitions are held each season: Divisional Cup for each division, Jennings League Cup, Mens and Ladies Singles, Mens and Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
There are also three charity competitions, proceeds go to a nominated local charity, these are the Mixed Trebles, George Wibberley Mens Challenge Cup and the Rocky Challenge Cup for the Ladies.
The newest event is the Joshua Frith Charity Shield which will be held each season. All proceeds will go to a chosen charity.
